I guess you don’t really understand me that well. When I don’t answer to a text message, it’s usually because I’m just busy with something or completely liberated from everyone at the moment. I love having my own agenda, so if I’m getting ready to go somewhere important and my phone dies, I just don’t really want to deal with a phone. Phones are everybody’s everything in terms of primary communication over a distance, and at home in Portland, our phone literally rings ten fucking times whenever I sit down to relax. When I don’t call you back when I say I will, there are two possibilities. Either I just don’t want to talk on the phone or I miss you so much that it’s hard to talk on the phone because I’d rather see your face. As soon as I get on the phone, you might expect me to stay on for 15+ minutes. I don’t always feel a huge connection to people on phones because I can’t SEE THEM very well, so I’m likely to not want to talk that long. Skype is brilliant. I love Skype. And yes, I miss you and you’re beautiful, so don’t think for a moment that because I don’t answer one or two texts immediately after you send them or I don’t call back when I say I will for the first time in months that it means I don’t miss you or think you’re ugly. That’s a retarded correlation between cause and effect.
